this is one car which price is ok for me but the car is in another city of Switzerland can i buy this car and bring it to Lugano ! or if i bring then i should some pay extra money for tax or insurance or i dont know something else , because its really complicated ..
this is link of the car i wanna buy..

First of all: The car that you are talking about is far too expensive - with over 8 years of age, more than 200′000 kms and a consumption of around 8 l/100 kms, no Swiss would buy such a vehicle for 5′700 Sfr. Therefore and much better: Buy local which then also saves you from a lot of hazzle with transportation of the vehicle.

As for registering a vehicle in Switzerland: Make sure it has passed technical inspection (usually and for a used vehicle, every two years). Then, the process is easy: Find an insurance company, show them the car papers (a greyish card in A5 format) that you received from the earlier owner. They will issue a insurance certificate. Bring this document together with the grey card and personal identification to the authorities (the same that issued the grey card) who then will hand you out a new number plate. Expect insurance fees and road tax fees within a few days or weeks.

For further questions about registering your vehicle, call the cantonal administration in Bellinzona: 0918144111.

Lower 1 level in tire speed rating is ok, according to Sears Auto?

Sunday, August 29th, 2010

Well, my car needs 4 new tires and I’ve been to Sears, Sams, Pepboys, Walmart to compare the prices. Overall, It seemed to me that Sears offered the best price for the prodcut (buy 3 Falken 912 get 1 free) What is more, Falken 912 had a very good review online plus 65k warranty.

And I came back to Sears and let them install the new tires.

When everything was done, I realized that the tires they gave me are H rated while my car manual said "never install anything lower than V rated."

I asked him and he said "well, you want the deal, you want good warranty, only the H rated has 65k miles; the V rated comes with only 45k miles warranty"

OMG, he should have told me that he actually lowered 1 level down, from V to H.

I then talked to the manager, and he said IT WAS OKAY TO LOWER 1 LEVEL DOWN. THERE WOULD BE NOTHING DIFFERENT. BUT DO NOT LOWER 2 LEVELS.

IS IT TRUE?

NOW SHOULD I KEEP THIS TIRE OR COME BACK TO SEARS AND ASK THEM INSTALL THE V? (NOT SURE IF THE POLICY ALLOWS THAT)

Sorry for too much info, any idea would be greatly appreciated.

By the way, my car is Acura TL 3.2

Higher rated tires aren’t better traction. In fact, it’s just the opposite. You want less sticky to keep heat buildup down at those speeds. If you’re not going 140mph, there’s no reason to worry. Lawyers made them put that in the manual so they wouldn’t get sued by some numnuts going 145 on cheap tires.

Edmunds.com Names Most Wanted Sedans for 2007

Friday, August 20th, 2010

The auto market is increasingly growing with more and more improvements on existing models introduced year after year. New vehicles are also added with the coming and going of a model year. This influx of vehicles on the market gives consumers a wide choice but at the same time can cause confusion on which car to buy.

In order to help car buyers in choosing the car that best suits their needs and their budgets, various online sources of auto information offer a helping hand. Recently, Edmunds.com, one of the leading online sources of auto information, named the most wanted sedans for the 2007 model year and such was done so as to give consumers an idea of which cars are popular among fellow car buyers.

The online firm named the Toyota Tundra as the “Most Significant Vehicle of the Year”. Aside from the Tundra, Edmunds.com also named the Most Wanted Sedans for this model year.

To provide consumers with an idea of which cars are the most popular in each segment, Edmunds divided the vehicles into price categories. This will make it easier for consumers to compare their budget to the selection of the most wanted cars by the market. For sedans under $15,000, Edmunds named the twins 2007 Hyundai Accent and the Kia Rio. Both of these vehicles share the same platform and interior styling. Edmunds.com stated that with these two sedans, “economical doesn’t mean low-quality”. The popularity of the Accent is justified by the fact that it is the longest-running subcompact car marketed in North America since the year 2002. Since the prices of gasoline has been skyrocketing in recent memory, it is no surprise that these fuel efficient and relatively lower-priced cars are one of the most wanted sedans in the U.S. market.

Proof of Honda’s popularity among American car buyers is the fact that the 2007 Honda Civic is voted as the most wanted sedan under $20,000. The achievement of the Civic is a good boost for Honda after it suffered lowered sales last month. The Civic not only bagged the distinction in the sedan category but also in the coupe segment. This proves how American car buyers appreciate the Civic’s reliability, fuel efficiency and overall performance. This feat also gives Honda the reputation of being a manufacturer of all-around solid cars.

The third Asian brand to bag the most wanted sedan distinction is the 2007 Mazda 6. The sedan was named as the most wanted sedan under $25,000. Auto critics have been singing the praises of the Mazda 6 and the Mazdaspeed 6 since its inception in the market. Car buyers and owners of the Mazda 6 are also pleased with the uncompromising performance of this car. With the American motorists turning to smaller cars for their next car purchases, the Mazda 6 is set to increase Mazda’s popularity in the United States.

For the sedan under $30,000 price category, another Hyundai car bagged the distinction for being the most wanted sedan in the class. The Hyundai Azera, Hyundai’s four-door sedan first introduced in 1986 is still making heads turn. According to Edmunds.com, “Hyundai comes to play with a reasonably priced and unexpectedly refined Azera.” Aside from being the second Hyundai sedan to be named as most wanted sedan for its price category, the Azera is also the fourth sedan with an Asian lineage that has been named by Edmunds for the most wanted sedan distinction.

One of the two BMWs to be given the distinction for the sedan segment is the 2007 BMW 3 Series. This sedan bagged the distinction for the sedan under $35,000 price category and is also one of the three European car models to be named most wanted sedan. For the past year, the BMW 3 Series already tops the price category and with BMW refining the 3 Series, it has even latched itself harder to the top spot this year. BMW’s trademark high performance and luxurious interior which can be complemented with husky liners makes the BMW 3 Series an undisputed leader in its price category.

For the sedan under $45,000 price category, Edmunds gave the distinction of being the most wanted sedan to the 2007 Infiniti M35 and the Infiniti M45. While this car from Nissan’s luxury division is battling it out with heavy hitters in this class, it managed to take the top spot. The reason for this is cited by Edmunds.com. “Infiniti’s unique mix of aggressive styling, firm suspension tuning and torque-rich engines gives it the edge in this crowded category.”

The second BMW to bag a most wanted sedan distinction is the 2007 BMW 5 Series. The European car model managed to take the top spot in the sedan under $60,000 price category. The 5 Series is also last year’s winner in this category. Just like its sibling, the 3 Series, the 5 Series came back this year model with a better performance and gained more popularity among American car buyers. With its perfect blend of luxury and performance, the 5 Series looks to dominate the category for a long time to come.

The most expensive among all most wanted sedans according to Edmunds.com is the 2007 Audi A8. The European sedan won the distinction in the sedan over $60,000 price category. The German car brand’s flagship took the distinction from its foremost competitors - the BMW 7 Series and the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

Could i just buy cheap neon tubes from Auto zone and install them under my car. instead of buying the kit?

Thursday, August 19th, 2010

I don’t want to buy a Neon undercar kit cause there like $120 so couldn’t i just buy the 12" $12.99 neon tubes and but them under my car instead of buying the kit. or should i just pay the price and get the underbody kit, and if soo where is a good place to get in from? Like on online store that wont rip me off and is secure?

Sure, and then you’ll get fined 150-200, for having illegal lights on the outside of your vehicle, and for creating a distraction for other drivers.

Neon under kits are for show cars only. Illegal to be used on public roads.

Buying Cars New or Used ?

Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

Owning a brand new car is exciting. But financially speaking, it makes more sense to buy a used car. As soon as you drive a new car off the lot, it loses a great portion of its value. This is because your car is no longer “new”.

Still like any journey, with the right guide to buying a car, one can breeze through the experience with flying colors. Below is a guide to getting better car buying deals not only in terms of getting high quality cars but also in being aware of rebates and discounts. Both online and offline transactions were mentioned and discussed as some people are already doing their shopping online.

Read on and see for yourself which car buying guide you already know and which one you just heard for the very first time.

Car buying guide #1: List your requirements and stick to it.

Knowing what you need and what you want already takes you halfway the decision-making process. List your requirements and search for a perfect match out of the hundreds of car models available. You can do this in the old fashion way by visiting the car dealers near your area or the new age way through the wonders of the World Wide Web. One car buying guide which you should remember is to never go to dealers without having a car in mind. Websites like CarDirect.com has a handy research tool that can help you refine your search

Car buying guide #2: Have a budget and stick to it.

When you have already decided on your car model, you can now look into the prices being offered by various car dealers. One car buying guide that is really important is to do price comparisons, which are available online at InvoiceDealers.com or CarsDirect. You can also ask advice from people who have bought cars in the last five years. Chances are, car dealers still have the same practices.

Car buying guide #3: Be on the look out for special sales and promos

Most car dealers and even websites will always come up with a promo or a special deal guaranteed to outsell the competition. You can also leave your contact details and ask the car dealers that you have visited to inform you of upcoming promos. That way, you will stay up to date and would be able to compare different deals offered by different companies. One can also try looking for great deals over the Internet. Some websites like ” Auto Info Online ” can also give you a lot of information towards buying a car.

New vs used. Which car is right for you? Consider the following.

Owning a brand new car is exciting. But financially speaking, it makes more sense to buy a used car. As soon as you drive a new car off the lot, it loses a great portion of its value. This is because your car is no longer “new”.

New cars lose about 40% of their value within 3 years, then depreciation starts to slow down. Why not buy a used car and allow someone else to take that depreciation hit?

The previous owner will have absorbed the steepest part of the depreciation cycle. At that point the costs of owning and operating the car will be reduced. The money you save on depreciation will surely go a long way.

Another benefit of buying used is lower cost. By buying used you pay less. You will also save on financing costs, insurance premiums, registration and licensing fees. You don’t have to worry about paying sales tax.

As with everything else there are a few downsides to buying a used car. There are greater chances for costly unwarranted repairs. You may very soon have to do major maintenance on your car, including replacing tires, battery, brakes, muffler, and perhaps even the transmission.

A used car is usually less reliable. You don’t know exactly what you’re getting into and how the previous owner treated the car. However, every situation is different and some used models may actually be far more reliable than some new ones.

If you can pay cash, go the new car way. Enjoy the feeling of knowing you’re the original owner of a new car in mint condition. Nothing can replace that feeling.

Otherwise do not hang your hat higher than you can reach. Practice financial prudence. Save your money and comfort yourself knowing that one day you will be able to afford that dream car. One day when money is no object.

Where to buy cheap auto insurance online?

Monday, August 9th, 2010

Im 19 years old and I have had my license for about a year. I have no speeding tickets and have never been in a wreck. My driving record is picture perfect. I have been driving my moms car and she has had me under her insurance so it was really cheap. But Im getting ready to buy an 06′ Chevy Colbat and where I am buying it off a car lot, she cant afford to put me under her name on insurance, becuase I will have to get full coverage as where as before I had liability. Is there a place in WV or somewhere online that offers reasonable prices on full coverage insurance for someone of my age. My mom is telling me my insurance is going to be about as much as my car payment. Is there any way to get it lower? I need a cheap place for insurance! Thnks.

Leonarda: The best thing to do, would be to start by comparing auto insurance quotes. Be aware that your our age, location, credit and driving record will all factor into your rate. Plus, if you are going to be getting a loan to pay for the car, you will most like also be required to carry "full" coverage by your lender (and maybe gap insurance as well). The good news is if you are a student, you may be eligible for some discounts, and your driving record may also get you some discounts. The best thing to do is pick a few auto insurance companies and begin to get quotes, this is the only way you’ll really know what your best deal is. Good luck to you!
