Buying Suvs From Car Dealers

Friday, August 20th, 2010

When you finally decide to buy a new SUV in replace for your old one, say you would want to replace your Acura RDX or Acura MDX, because the Acura muffler is not functioning well despite several maintenance and repair strategies, consider car buying tips that would not be costly on your part.

Make some researches. After narrowing down your choices of vehicles, research their prices on popular sites like Kellys Blue Book, Edmunds, Yahoo Auto Finance, etc. Doing this will help you decide properly as to which car is within the reach of your capacity to pay.

Test Drive the car you are planning to buy. Make sure before you start negotiating on pricing, you test drive the vehicle you want to purchase. This will help you further negotiate the price.

Test drive during day time to inspect well the car inside and out. Also a good way to test is through taking it on a road where there is less traffic noise.

Then, negotiate. Do not let the car dealer know you have done some researches on the prices of different cars because they will an immediate idea as to how price your chosen car. Let the dealer first give a price, then, try to narrow it down.

Financing is the next step. The car dealer might take you to the finance manager and they might tell you they deal with you’re bank and will get you the best possible rate. That is certainly not reliable. A bank does not deal with dealers. So the best way is to see first a bank representative before stating the financing scheme for the new car and inform them you will be making a car deal and you alone will be making the deal.

If you are considering trading your old vehicle in for the new SUV, don’t let the dealer know that upfront. Negotiate your price for the car you want first, and then at the end of the discussion, trade in.

Remember the dealer doesn’t sell at a loss. Don’t feel guilty or let the dealer make you feel guilty in any way.

If you are really economizing, do not buy those “add ons”. These are extended warranties and car accessories. You can use you car even without those. But, if in case your financial capacity already permits you, then buy those. After all, those add the luxury and the personality of your car.

Methods To Grab Fantastic Car Deals

Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

Imagine your faithful old Ford finally broke down and it’s time for you to get a new car to replace it. The only snag though, is that you’re low on cash. So what are your options?

Let’s see. First off, you could go for a bank loan. Or perhaps you could opt for one of your local car dealerships that offer attractive finance packages, but with high interest rates. But what would be your best option in a situation like this? Well, why not try a car auction website?

Not only are they the rage these days for their simplicity and convenience, a car auction website also allows you to grab some fantastic car deals without all of the hassle of driving down to a physical location. But first, here’s the low-down on car auction websites…

If you do a search on Google or Yahoo for the above term, you’ll come across plenty of sites offering a gamut of vehicles, ranging from Fords and Audis, to Chevys and Fiats. And all, at very reasonable prices too!

The cars being displayed for auction can be put up for bid by folks like you and I, or small-medium scale auto dealerships. Hence, prices can range from vehicles that have some reserve on the car (where a seller will not sell the vehicle unless and until he receives a bid higher than his set reserve price) to a car auction that has no reserve at all.

So for example, if a seller displayed a car with a reserve of $175 on a car auction website, and the highest bid he received was only $155, he could either accept that bid or re-list the vehicle on another car auction website. If you come across a super excellent car, then sometimes it might be worth it to bid on the price the seller is asking for. It’s totally your call!

Another important thing to keep in mind when bidding is the exact cost and method of shipping and the location of the car. Since vehicles sold on a car auction website belong to sellers from all over the world, you’ll want to check out the location before actually going ahead and placing your bid.

Remember, your bid will be considered final and legally binding as a contract, and if you happen to win the auction, you’ll have to ensure you fulfill your side of the deal to the best of your ability. Otherwise, the seller has every right to take legal action against you!

And here’s something else you want to consider - the reputation and feedback of the seller whose car you’re interested in. Ebay Motors (a popular used car auction website) has a great system in place, where you can check out the feedback of each seller. See for similar systems on other car auction websites and make it a point to carefully read through the comments the seller has received.

Always purchase from auctioneers who’ve got an impressive reputation. This will go a long way in ensuring you have a pleasant experience at a car auction website.

Well, there you have it. Now why not spend some time browsing around for a great car auction website? You could soon be buying the car of your dreams - but at half the cost you’d normally have to fork out to a car dealer!

Saving Money On The Costs Of Running A Car

Sunday, July 25th, 2010

We all know that running a car is expensive but how often do we workout exactly what we are spending? There are ways to reduce costs on your current vehicle and factors to consider when buying a new car.

Firstly how much is your finance deal costing each month? Car dealers will of course try to sell you their finance package but this may not be the best deal for you. It is well worth taking the time to do some research to check out other options available. Internet comparison sites and loan calculators are useful tools to assist in this process and looking for cheap loans before looking for the car will normally work in your favour financially. The main advice here is to do all of this research well in advance. Car salespeople are well trained in their art and will almost certainly put the pressure on to accept their finance arrangements once you are in the dealership. The reason for this is the profits they can make by selling a finance deal as well as a vehicle. In fact often the finance package makes them more moeny that the car itself.

Insurance premiums have risen significantly in recent years. This is because of the increase in personal injury claims and the number of uninsured drivers. The insurance quote will vary according to the type of car, your postcode and the age of the driver. The key to saving money is once again to shop around. Just because one provider was the best value last year does not mean that is still the case when it comes to renewing your policy. Millions of people still regularly renew with their existing provider without shopping around and waste money needlessly.

If you intend to keep your car for an extended period then depreciation will not be a major issue. However, if you change your car regularly but are trying to keep costs down, then consider paying a little extra for a car with a higher resale value. Family cars tend to lose their value most quickly and may only be worth 1/3 of their purchase price after 3 years. However, more prestigious brands can still be worth 70% of the new price after 3 years. Also consider buying nearly new rather than new. That way you will not be fundung the high initial depreciation that vehicles suffer from.

Rising fuel prices obviously have a major impact on running costs. Why not choose a smaller more fuel efficient car or perhaps try a diesel model? Whenever possible fill your tank at supermarkets which usually offer lower fuel prices.

Servicing costs will vary according to the age of the car. If your vehicle is less than 3 years old you are likely to pay more. If at all possible avoid using a main dealer for servicing and repairs. Independent garages usually charge considerably less for labour.

When is the very best time to buy a new car?

Sunday, July 25th, 2010

I want to buy a new car using Obamas new "cash for clunkers" program, but its still a bit too expensive for me to upgrade.
Is there a specific time in the year that car prices are lower?
When do the new models for 2010 come out (because maybe they’ll wanna get rid of the 09 models)

Also, i want a small cheap car, do you have any ideas for me?

August-ish. That is when the new models start to come out. So dealerships will want to get rid of the old inventory. Waiting until the end of the month is better. Dealerships are more apt to make a good deal at the end of the month especially if sales have been slow throughout the month.

Remember, negotiate the PRICE and not the payments. If a dealership wants to pull your credit BEFORE a deal is made, tell them to forget it. Ask them which bureau they pull and if they say either "one" or "Experian" run for the hills. Get your own financing before you go shopping as this will make it MUCH easier on you. And if a dealership wants to pull your credit even though you have your own financing, take your business elsewhere.

Here is a website that will help you negotiate through the flurry of red tape and forms the dealership is going to throw at you:

http://www.carbuyingtips.com/scams.htm

Then you will need to be armed with what the cost is of the vehicle you want. So go here:

http://www.edmunds.com/

Thoroughly read and understand these websites. You will be thankful and will give you the ammo you need to handle any car dealership.
